The Constantine Andreou Archive is an independent, family-led project devoted to preserving, documenting, and making accessible the life and work of Constantine Andreou (1917–2007).
Our purpose
The Archive is building a lasting research resource for Andreou’s sculpture, painting, printmaking, and other creative work. It brings together an artwork catalogue, a documented biography, exhibition histories, bibliographic records, and archival material relating to the artist’s life and career.
Its purpose is not only to present Andreou’s work, but also to establish information that future researchers, curators, collectors, and members of the public can verify and build upon.
The collection
The catalogue begins with works held by Andreou’s family. In time, it is intended to include works in museums, public institutions, and other private collections where reliable information and suitable images are available.
Every artwork receives a stable Archive identifier. Records are expanded as further documentation becomes available and may include titles, dates, materials, dimensions, inscriptions, provenance, exhibitions, publications, and related images. Unknown or uncertain information is identified as such rather than silently completed or assumed.
Copyright and licensing
Unless otherwise indicated, the Archive’s original editorial text and original photography are protected by copyright, with all rights reserved.
Images of works by Constantine Andreou may involve separate rights in the artwork and in the photograph. The appearance of an artwork, image, publication, or archival document on this website does not by itself grant permission to reproduce, publish, distribute, adapt, or use it commercially.
Material supplied by museums, institutions, photographers, publishers, or other third parties remains subject to the credit line, permission, or licence stated alongside it. No Archive-wide licence applies to third-party material.
For licensing and reproduction enquiries, please contact the Archive with the artwork’s title or Archive identifier and details of the proposed use. The Archive will advise whether it can authorize the requested use or whether another rights holder must be contacted. Nothing in this notice limits uses permitted by applicable law.
Research and documentation
The Archive works from family records, publications, exhibition catalogues, institutional collections, and other identifiable sources. Documented facts, family testimony, and unresolved questions are kept distinct.
Names, dates, and exhibition details often vary between languages and sources. Where accounts conflict, the Archive seeks the strongest available evidence and records uncertainty when a definitive conclusion cannot yet be reached. Catalogue records and research pages will continue to be corrected and developed as new material is identified.
Stewardship and independence
It is an independent family initiative. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Costas Andreou Foundation.
Researchers, institutions, collectors, and others who hold relevant documentation or information are invited to contact the Archive. Corrections supported by verifiable sources are also welcome.
